The Numero Group has released many, many awesome compilations and Cult Cargo: Grand Bahama Goombay does not disappoint. Think Caribbean-influenced funk with a highly rhythmic sense of soul. This particular track by Cyril Ferguson is especially funk flavored and it’s title, “Gonna Build a Nation”, is evocative of Parliament-Funkadelic. Numero Group 1975.
